Ahvaan, in collaboration with Ambedkar University Delhi, is working with government schools in Delhi. It trains and mentors pre-primary and primary teachers towards a change in methodology from the current rote method to a more learner-centric, activity-based method, particularly in Languages and Maths. It is also working with 1,200 primary school children with an aim to make them independent learners by creating a sound foundation of learning and encouraging good habits. The classes with children also act as a demonstration for their teachers, helping in a deeper understanding of the pedagogy.
Ahvaan operates in 19 government schools across Delhi and it hopes to expand to 100 schools. It wishes to continue its Teacher Development Programmes in the five government schools allotted to it using child-centred experiential methodology. It has worked on the pre-primary curriculum for all Delhi Government Schools, with SCERT Delhi. This curriculum is currently being implemented across Delhi.
