Centre for Advocacy and Research works on the issues of the most marginalised, vulnerable and “voiceless” sections of the society. Over a decade, CFAR has been perpetually engaging with poor communities across varied geographies on similar concerns of health, HIV prevention, sanitation, nutrition, gender equality and curbing gender based violence from curbing sex determination to preventing and addressing domestic violence to early marriage and sexual crimes. It practises a community-centric approach.
Demonstrated Women’s Participation in Public Sphere: representation of women in legislature, local bodies, programmatic committees and participation in decision making process of NGOs and CBOs (Community Based Organisations). Created enabling environment with consistent access to legal protection and platforms. Increased space and visibility for women specific objectives and approaches in national/sectoral policies and key programmes. Impact or evidences that show the effectiveness of affirmative action and policies.
