About
Committee for Legal Aid to Poor (CLAP) is a public interest law organisation which advances human rights through legal services and juridical advocacy at various levels. It serves approximately 3,000 people annually under Legal Services. It reaches out to approximately 1,00,000 people under various kinds of advocacy initiatives including legal awareness and legal empowerment.
Impact
It provided legal services to 1,500,000 marginalized people across Odisha over the course of several decades. It has trained 686 paralegal volunteers with the legal services authorities in Odisha and 9 north-eastern states to effectively fulfil their responsibilities between years 2013 to 2017. CLAP’s National Childhood and Care Campaign was highly successful and helped shape national policy on early childhood care and education.
