Established in 2007, Educate Girls (EG) is a programme focused on improving the enrolment – retention – learning cycle of every child in the educationally backward districts where it operates. Currently, it is present across 15 educationally backward districts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Since inception in 2007, it has enrolled over 2 lac unique out-of-school girls (OOSGs), improved learning outcomes of 6.5 lac children in numeracy and literacy.
It is present across 15 educationally backward districts in Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh (11 districts in Rajasthan & 4 in Madhya Pradesh). EG has demonstrated its success by achieving the following 3 outcomes. Since 2007, over 2,00,000 OOSGs enrolled back to school and 6,50,000 children demonstrated improvement in learning outcomes across numeracy & literacy. It has reached out to 49 lac cumulative beneficiaries since inception. Educate Girls with UBS Optimus Foundation and Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, launched the world’s first Development Impact Bond (DIB) in the education sector. The DIB is currently operational in 166 schools across Bhilwara district of Rajasthan and impacts almost 15,000 direct beneficiaries.
