IDEAL – Centre for Social Justice (CSJ), is a socio-legal organisation working on access to justice and legal empowerment. CSJ fulfils its mandate by training and strengthening community lawyers and paralegals by building their capacities to deliver change-inducing leadership in their communities through a network of law centres. CSJ has also made path-breaking institutional interventions in the form of research, legal reforms and initiatives bringing together grassroots activism, law and policy-making on a wide array of issues affecting socio-economically marginalised and vulnerable groups.
CSJ made a total of 121 applications among the six law centres. 40 applications were made for Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation Limited (KMDC) loans. Shadibhagya (a scheme to provide financial assistance for the backward Muslim women during marriage) applications were made for 5 individuals, Ganga Kalyan (a scheme to provide irrigation facility to the agricultural land through lift irrigation utilizing the perennial source of water and lifting water through pipelines) for 6 people, 4 under Shaadi Mubarak (In this scheme, Telangana government provides one-time financial assistance of Rs 51,000 to the bride’s family at the time of marriage to meet the marriage related expenses) and 2 for Dobha nirmaan (an Initiative by Jharkhand government to construct ponds for the purpose of water conservation, irrigation, fisheries and also for employment generation).
