A grassroots NGO with two decades of experience in community work, particularly with vulnerable groups affected by HIV. It has worked with over 12,000 vulnerable people, focusing on their empowerment and reducing vulnerability. Its care and support services have reached over 14,000 people affected by HIV.
It has worked with 10,497 people living with HIV and their families through care and support services. This includes 369 people who needed intensive palliative care services after being admitted at the care centre, and 1,031 people who sought critical medical and counselling services as outpatients. Samraksha conducted training programmes for 26 doctors, 16 nurses, 192 care volunteers and 155 students in medical and paramedical programmes. 100 villages are involved in the programmes to establish strong links to HIV prevention, care and support services.
